## What Lingofy is

Lingofy is a web-based English learning platform. It combines CEFR-aligned
practice tests, an AI English tutor, and a structured 190+ concept knowledge
base. Tests are graded automatically, and the learner's CEFR level is
calculated from the number of passed tests — not from an average score.

with Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking tests plus an AI English teacher.

## How it works

1. The learner creates a free account.
2. New learners start at CEFR **A1**.
3. The learner takes practice tests or submits Writing and Speaking work.
4. Each test is scored. A test counts as passed at **50% or higher**.
5. The CEFR level rises one step at a time based on the number of passed
   tests, counted since the learner reached the current level.

A1 is the starting level for every new learner. Reaching C1 is the highest
level available. Levels never skip a step.

Skill practice updates the section score and the knowledge base. The CEFR level
itself is raised only by passed tests.
- Section scores, daily practice counts, skill cards and progress graphs appear on
  the Statistics page. These are display metrics and do not change the level.

The AI tutor covers: English grammar, vocabulary, writing correction, reading,
speaking, pronunciation and IPA, idioms, phrasal verbs, CEFR preparation and
IELTS preparation.
