## What the platform offers

Four CEFR skills are covered:

1. **Reading** — reading comprehension tests from A1 to C1.

2. **Listening** — audio comprehension tests, plus Dictation and a

## CEFR level system

Levels available: **A1, A2, B1, B2, C1**. C2 is not offered.

Important rules:

- Every new learner starts at **A1**.
- A level is only promoted **one step at a time**. Levels never skip.
- The level is calculated from the **number of passed tests counted since the
  learner reached the current level**, not from a cumulative average score.
- A test counts as passed at **50% or higher**.
- Skill practice (Vocabulary, Dictation, AI chat) updates section scores and the
  knowledge base, but does **not** by itself raise the CEFR level. Only passed
  tests do.

**What is a CEFR test?**
A CEFR test is an English language level test based on the Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages. It measures six levels from A1 to C1 and
its result is comparable to IELTS, Cambridge English, TOEFL and Goethe.

**Which CEFR levels does Lingofy offer?**
A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1. C2 is not offered. A1 is the starting level.

**Is it free?**
Yes. Taking CEFR tests requires no payment. A free account is needed to save
progress.

**How is the level calculated?**
By the number of passed tests. A test is passed at 50% or higher. Once the
